This studio concentrated on maturing each students’ ability to formulate a cogent architectural design proposition from start to finish using contemporary and canonical design principles and strategies. This ability was supplemented with instruction in achieving an emerging ability to represent concepts and formal architectural propositions through advanced digital and physical modeling and representation
techniques.

The fundamental unit of architecture is the human; for this studio, the more specific type of human known as “undergrad”. Using a basic program of housing for students,
students studied the relationship between the human to a part of a building (a living space) and a whole architectural proposition through the multiplication of the basic living unit.
The transformation and multiplication of the one to create the whole will revolve around the second fundamental of the studio, the creation of public space.

The program for this studio was to design student housing for the Auraria campus.
