ICAA Summer Studio
The ICAA Summer Studio introduced students to the skills and resources essential to the practice of classical architectural design. The studio was four weeks long and students were able to build a foundation in classical architectural design through study of the classical elements, principles of composition, proportion and geometry, traditional urban form, observational and analytical drawing, and the study of precedent.

The 2021 studio was held in New York City. Students began by drafting the five orders of classical architecture. They were also introduced to field drawing techniques and wash rendering. Studio work was complemented by on-site study of classical buildings throughout New York City. The studio culminated in a design project for a new classical pavilion for Prospect Park in Brooklyn.
